Ketamine IV TherapyFresno, CA
Ketamine is an FDA-approved anesthetic that has been used safely and effectively in hospitals worldwide since the 1960’s. Over the past several years Ketamine therapy has grown in popularity as a highly effective treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD and chronic pain.
Ketamine IV therapy at Optimal Medical Group consists of six infusions over the course of 2 weeks. During this time, our team will work with you to monitor the effects of the treatment and provide support.
Prior to starting the treatment, you will have a consultation with Dr. Lucia or Dr. Juan to answer any questions you might have and determine if ketamine therapy is right for you. If the decision is made to proceed with IV therapy, you will usually be scheduled to receive three treatments per week for two weeks. If deemed appropriate, treatment can begin immediately following the consultation. We will provide a calm environment to help you relax during the infusion.
We are very excited to now offer this revolutionary treatment at OMG. If you want relief from depression, anxiety, trauma, or chronic pain, give us a call to schedule a consultation so we can determine if a ketamine therapy plan is right for you.
FAQs
How Does it Work?
Ketamine infusion therapy has been proven to redevelop the neural pathways in your brain that have been damaged by debilitating mental health or chronic pain conditions.
Ketamine causes an increase in neurotransmitters like glutamate that help to build new pathways in the brain, improving function in areas of mood, sleep, and more.
Ketamine is different from other medications in that it triggers reactions in the cortex that enable brain connections to regrow. This allows for long-term effects that last even when the ketamine is no longer in your system.
When will I feel the results?
Depending on the treatment and the overall health of the individual, results may be felt immediately or following a series of infusions.
Is IV Therapy Safe?
Our treatments are extremely safe. Placing an IV is a routine procedure for our healthcare staff and our treatments are backed by the latest advances in evidence-based neuroscience.
How long does it take?
Ketamine therapy takes 30-45 minutes.
How many treatments do I need?
We customize our treatment plans for each patient, and we will agree on a plan during our consultation. Typically treatment consists of 6 infusions over the course of 10-14 days.
How long will the effects last?
The effects of a single infusion typically last up to two weeks. After a series of six infusions, some people could remain symptom free for several months. We also offer the option of booster infusions which can be given monthly or a few times per year as needed.
