Personal Fitness Testing for Wellness Center Services

Personal Fitness Testing Fresno, CA

Personal fitness testing is a good way to see how fit you are. Lifestyle and diet can influence a person’s fitness level. A wellness center can measure your fitness level before starting a program to improve it. If you want to know more about personal fitness testing for services at your wellness center, here are the details.

What personal fitness testing is

Physical fitness is the ability to accomplish physical tasks. Personal fitness testing often includes measuring muscular endurance. It also measures cardiovascular health and muscular strength. The testing may include repetition strength-based workouts, such as bench presses.

The individual may also perform exercises like squats until tired. This measures muscular endurance. Aerobic tests can test the heart rate to see the person’s cardiovascular fitness. These types of personal fitness testing help form an understanding of the person’s present health. Physical fitness can determine the person’s treatment process.

Wellness of the body and mind

Personal fitness testing helps a physician select the type of exercise program for the patient’s treatment plan. Physical activity can play a role in the patient’s recovery. Wellness of the body and mind is the doctor’s goal. Faster healing can happen when the body and mind are optimal. The connection between the two components is important.

Flexibility testing

This type of fitness testing will see how easy it is for the patient to extend and flex. The sit-and-reach test is a basic test of how flexible the individual’s hamstrings and lower back are. The patient will sit on the floor with the legs stretched out in front. Then, the patient will try to reach the toes. The distance between the tips of the fingers and the toes is the measure of how flexible the patient is.

The zipper or shoulder flexibility test tests the flexibility and mobility of the shoulder joints and upper arms. The patient will reach a free hand behind the neck. Then, the hand will go down along the spine. The other hand will go the opposite way until the tip of the two hands face each other. There is high flexibility the closer the hands meet.

The trunk lift test will check the flexibility of the lower back and core. Here, the patient will lie on the stomach. The arms will be on each side of the body. Then, the back muscles will try to raise the upper body as high as possible.

Body composition testing

The first test in this personal fitness testing is the body fat test. It is a good way to see if the patient has health risks. The BMI (body mass index) test will indicate if the patient has a healthy body weight. It does not tell how much body fat the patient has.

A waist circumference measurement will tell if the patient’s waistline is greater than the hip measurement. In this test, a wider waistline will indicate a higher risk for Type II diabetes, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. BIA (bioelectrical impedance analysis) measures the patient’s body fat percentage with a body fat scale. It runs small currents of electricity through the body to test for resistance. A higher level of resistance means more body fat.

Personal fitness testing is an effective way to check the level of your physical fitness

Your wellness center will check your level of fitness first. The results of their personal fitness testing will reveal how much your body can endure physical activities. They will also tell how well your body is capable of defending itself against diseases. Personal fitness testing may take some time, but its results will help your treatment care plan and even your sexual wellness.
